Effortless HOA started in Clark County, Washington. Our founders served on the boards of single-family communities in the Vancouver-Camas area and got tired of managing neighborhoods with outdated tools. Quarterly assessments tracked in spreadsheets. Architectural review requests for deck additions and exterior repaints buried in email threads. Financial reports cobbled together from three different systems while homeowners asked reasonable questions about where their money was going.
The problems were specific to our communities. Large-lot neighborhoods with significant common areas need coordinated landscaping and tree management, especially when a wet PNW winter brings down limbs or surfaces drainage issues. Neighborhoods with detailed CC&Rs need a way to process 30-40 architectural reviews a year without forms getting lost between board meetings. And communities with six-figure annual budgets need financial transparency that builds homeowner trust, not erodes it.
We looked for HOA software that solved these problems. What we found were legacy platforms from the early 2000s with clunky interfaces, per-user fees that punished communities for giving every homeowner access, and features designed for large condo complexes, not single-family neighborhoods. Nothing fit.
